Sport Minister, UNICEF discuss youth strategy

SANA'A, Sep. 13 (Saba)- Minister of Youth and Sports Hamoud Obad discussed on Saturday with UNICEF representative Abdu Karim mutual cooperation between the ministry and the UN organization in field of supporting youth and carrying out the national strategy for youth and sports.

In the meeting, Obad affirmed his ministry's keenness on enhancing partnership with
UNICEF in projects supporting youth and girls in sport, health and enlightenment
fields as well as supporting youth developmental centers.

"The ministry has no previous programs with the organization despite its well
performance with other state and other institutions," said Obad, adding that there
is special care of girl sport in Yemen.

For his part, the UN official highlighted components of the national strategy for
childhood and youth and the promising projects it includes and expressed the
organization support to the strategy and the Supreme Committee for Youth and Sport.
