Ministry of Culture and Information seizes more than 500,000
Riyadh, September 13, SPA--The Ministry of Culture and Information
has seized more than 500,000 information items in violation of
regulations over the last three months including CDs, cassette tapes,
videos, copying sets of Radio and Television, and sets for receiving
satellite encrypted channels.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Assistant
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Information for
Internal Information Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Hazza' pointed out
that a large part of the seized items have been in violation of
regulations of copyright through illegal copying, piracy or illegal
viewing of encrypted channels in addition to the seizure of some
materials breaching religious teachings, morality and social customs.
