Qatar Wins Third Gold Medal in Asian Athletics Championship
Kobe, Japan, July 10 (QNA) - Qatar s Femi Sion claimed the gold medal of 200 event at the Asian Athletics Championship on Sunday, the last day of the Asian Athletics Championship briniging to three the number of gold medals won by Qatar in the Championship.
Yesterday, Mutaz Essa Barshim claimed the gold medal of High Jump Event at the Asian Athletics Championship. Barshim received the loudest cheers from the stand when he provided the big jump of 2m35 in the men s high jump, which broke the championship best, Qatari national best and his personal best as well as tied for the second worlds best of the season.
Young Essa Barshim, who is the former gold medalist of the Asian Games in 2010 and the World Junior Championship in the same year, said "I really want to win the gold medal. I will rewrite the history. “When asked of his goal in the World Championships in the next month in Daegu, Korea”.
