Red whiskered bulbul competition held in southern Thailand

BANGKOK, July 10 (TNA) - The southern Songkhla province of Thailand hosted a Thai-Malaysian red whiskered bulbul competition on Sunday.
The provincial administrative organisation and a red whiskered bulbul club in Songakhla organised the competition at the field of the Songkhla provincial administration organisation. The event was aimed at stimulating the economy and tourism of Songkhla Province and promoting good care for and the competition of red whiskered bulbuls.

Over 5,000 bird lovers from Songkhla and nearby provinces and Malaysia brought along over 5,000 red whiskered bulbuls to the competition. The field was packed with the birds that entered for the beauty and tweet contests.

There was also a contest of beautiful bird cages, some of which are priced at up to 100,000 baht. The event was organized annually to promote the breeding of red whiskered bulbuls. (TNA)
