PRESIDENT RECEIVES CHINA'S MINISTER

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj received Thursday a delegation led by Mr. Meng Jianzhu, the Minister of the Public Security of the People's Republic of China.
The President has underlined an importance of high-level mutual visits and expressed a satisfaction with Mr. Jiangzhu's meetings with the secretary of the National Security Council of Mongolia (NSC) and the Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs at which security, border protection and cooperation between legal organizations matters had been negotiated.
Mentioning that related bodies of Mongolia are realizing the works agreed between the Presidents of Mongolia and China, the State Head has emphasized an importance of the agreement on bringing the bilateral relations into strategic partnership level. "The mutual visits of our Prime Ministers have gained a vital importance, and the cooperation have been developing in all spheres. The convict exchange agreement established within the Mongolian Premier's visit was a good step in the relations," he said.
Mongolia requested China's President Hu Jintao to consider a case of the Mongolian citizen Damdin who has been sentenced to death penalty in China. "I would like the Chinese side to positively tackle this matter in respect of laws," the President has stressed, adding "our countries must protect interests of their citizens by strictly adhering to each other's laws."
In turn, Mr. Jiangzhu has said transboundary crimes are emerging as much as the economic collaboration is developing. He has said the cooperation in security and border protection and in protecting interests of citizens are vital responsibilities of the law enforcing organizations. He has reported that the two countries signed a cooperation agreement on combating crimes and exchanged a note on non-refundable aid of CNY 5 million from China to organizations of Mongolia's Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs.
