Turkish football is in shock! Within the scope of a match-fixing investigation, Sekip Mosturoglu, Fenerbahce club's director Ilhan Eksioglu, Sivasspor club's Chairman Mecnun Odyakmaz, Cemil Turan, Eskisehirspor club's coach Bulent Uygun and Umit Karan were arrested and sent to Metris Prison.

SOME SUSPECTS ADMITS MATCH-FIXING, APPEAL FOR REPENTANCE LAW
Some of the suspects in a match-fixing scandal in Turkey have reportedly admitted to fixing games in soccer to appeal to be covered by an effective repentance law. 61 people, including Fenerbahce Chairman Aziz Yildirim, were taken under custody in the probe and 25 of them were arrested by a court. Those who were released from police custody were ones who reportedly asked for repentance in return for admitting to match-fixing.
EU OPENS INFORMATION CENTER IN EASTERN TURKISH PROVINCE
The European Union opened Thursday an information center in the eastern province of Erzurum. Head of the EU delegation in Turkey Marc Pierini attended the inauguration of the EU information center. Pierini said EU Commissioner for enlargement Stefan Fule will pay a visit to Turkey next Monday. Pierini said the introduction of an EU ministry in Turkey had been welcomed by the EU.

OFFER FROM TANZANIA TO TOKI
East African country Tanzania applied to TOKI (Housing Development Administration of Turkey) which attracted the attention of the world with the projects it made in Turkey. A Tanzanian delegation, which arrived in Ankara to find a solution to its three million housing deficit, offered TOKI officials, "you produce projects for us, we buy the materials from Turkey."
CHP SHALL APPLY JURISDICTION FOR ASSURANCE
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticised the statements of main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu who said, "if the government gives assurance for the release of imprisoned parliamentarians, we will take oath at Parliament." Noting that the government did not have the authority to give assurance, Erdogan said that CHP shall get assurance from jurisdiction if it could.
