Wellknown former Thai health minister passes away

BANGKOK, July 8 (TNA) - Dr. Sem Primpuangkaew, a wellknown former Thai public health minister and the first surgeon to use new technology to operate on Siamese twins, passed away early Friday morning at the age of 100.

Dr. Sem had been hospitalised at Rajavithi Hospital in Bangkok for medical treatment since October last year. The bathing rite for his body was set to be held at the hospital this afternoon, before his funeral will be at the Thatthong Temple, beginning Saturday.

Dr. Sem served as the Thai public health minister in the then Thai government of General Kriangsak Chamanand and General Prem Tinsulanonda. (TNA)
