JAPANESE BUSINESS LEADERS TO MEET ASEAN SEC-GEN IN KL

KUALA LUMPUR, July 5 (Bernama) -- The Federation of Japanese Chambers of
Commerce and Industry in Asean (FJCCIA) will hold its fourth annual dialogue
with the Secretary-General of Asean Secretariat, Dr Surin Pitsuwan, here on
Friday.

During the dialogue, they will exchange views on tackling business issues
associated with Asean's on-going economic integration, said Takehide Teranishi,
Managing Director of the Kuala Lumpur office of the Japan External Trade
Organisation (Jetro), who is one of the officials involved in hosting the
dialogue.

Yasuo Hayashi, Chairman and CEO, JETRO, Takashi Hibi, President, Japanese
Chamber of Trade & Industry, Malaysia (JACTIM) Kyoichi Tanada, President,
Japanese Chamber of Commerce, Bangkok, are among the senior Japanese business
officials attending the dialogue.

The inaugural dialogue was held in Bangkok in 2008, followed by Jakarta in
2009 and Singapore in 2010.

FJCCIA was established in June 2009 to facilitate mutual coordination among
the Japanese Chambers of Commerce and Industry within Asean and contribute
towards regional economic development and improved business environments
involving Japanese enterprises through dialogue with the Asean Secretariat and
other related agencies.

Other members of FJCCIA include the Japanese Business Association of
Cambodia, Jakarta Japan Club Foundation, Japanese Chamber of Commerce and
Industry, Vientiane, Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Yangon
Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Philippines, Inc.,
Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Singapore, Japan Business Association
in Vietnam (Hanoi) and Japanese Business Association of Ho Chi Minh City.
