Yingluck: cabinet formation yet to be concluded

BANGKOK, July 5 (TNA) - Yingluck Shinawatra, the potential first female prime minister of Thailand, denies coalition parties have settled their cabinet portfolios.

Yingluck confirmed Tuesday that her Pheu Thai Party and its four coalition parties had not finalized their cabinet portfolios, insisting that she would have to wait until the final election results were announced, and that the parties still have to discuss the issue internally.

Asked if she was concerned over demands from different factions within the Pheu Thai Party, Yingluck said they could talk it as they shared a common intention in selecting the most suitable person for the cabinet post. She also said that she had not discussed with red-shirt leaders as to whether they would be given any ministerial seat.

Yingluck stressed that members of her cabinet must have the qualifications needed for their responsibilities and that the positions were equally open to insiders and outsiders. (TNA)
