Arab League Hails Doha Document on Peace in Darfur

Khartoum, July 03 (QNA) - The Arab League envoy to Sudan, Salah Halima said Sunday that the adoption of the Doha Document on Peace in Darfur by the UN Security Council, the Arab League as well as the African Union, and the invitation extended to the armed movements to join the peace
Process represents an impetus towards real peace in Daruf and paves the way towards a comprehensive settlement.
Halima said the International Conference on Water in Darfur is an "important step" in order to achieve stability, peace and sustainable development, adding that the Arab League believes that water is a central issue in Darfur and that water projects in the region cannot be separated from development schemes.
