S. Korean Authorities' Action against Rev. Han Sang Ryol under Fire

Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, the south Korean regime sentenced Rev. Han Sang Ryol to three-years in jail and the same term of suspension of qualification at a trial staged by the Seoul High Court again.
The court took this action against him after accusing him of fully supporting and praising the DPRK's politics, charging that what he did was "a real danger which might substantially affect" the existence and security" of south Korea.
Rodong Sinmun Monday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard:
This action was a serious human rights abuse as it was a wanton infringement upon human freedom, rights and conscience.
The south Korean regime has brought to total collapse the inter-Korean relations which had developed favorably, while remaining extremely hostile to the fellow countrymen in the north.
The court decision is not merely suppression of a single man but a challenge to the DPRK and all Koreans struggling for national reunification, the commentary notes, demanding the south Korean authorities to immediately retract the punishment and set him free unconditionally.
