AZERBAIJANI EMBASSY IN SWEDEN TO HOLD BUSINESS AND CULTURAL EVENTS IN STOCKHOLM

Baku,12 September,(AzerTAj)The Azerbaijani Embassy in Sweden is to hold business and cultural events in Stockholm aimed at further development of bilateral relations between the two countries. The program prepared by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Stockholm includes, in particular, a concert by the Azerbaijani State Youth Orchestra in the Swedish capital's musical venue Nalen on September 15th.

The young Azerbaijani talents, conducted by Mr. Teymur Geokchayev, are to perform the music of outstanding Azerbaijani and world composers such as Hajibayov, Garayev, Guliyev, Mozart, Sviridov, Bizet and others. The concert is organized with the support of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Youth and Sport.

The 350 guests are to include representatives of the Swedish Government, Stockholm's Diplomatic Corps, Swedish and Azerbaijani business community, Swedish public figures and representatives of the
Azerbaijani Diaspora.

The Embassy is also hosting Azerbaijani Jazz evening on September 14th on the fringes of the Business-to-business Forum supported by the Foreign Investments Promotion Agency AZPROMO. The Forum is hosted by one of the leading Swedish financial institution SEB Banken at their Headquarters in Stockholm.

The organizers of the event expect the participation of senior level officials from the Swedish Ministry for Trade, as well as representatives of the Foreign Ministry. The Swedish Trade Minister Ms. Ewa Bjorling will address the audience of the Azerbaijani and Swedish businesses with a key note speech.

Representatives of the Azerbaijani and Swedish business entities to take part in the Forum hail from the non oil and gas sectors such as hydro power generation, finance, telecommunications, construction,
processing, recycling, pharmaceuticals, tourism, consulting, property management, food stuff retail, etc. In total, over thirty companies have already confirmed their participation in the Business Forum.

It is noteworthy that a Swedish business delegation, led by the Minister for Employment Mr Sven Otto Littorin, is expected to visit Azerbaijan in November 2008 at the invitation of the Azerbaijani Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Mr. Fizuli Alakbarov.

The Azerbaijani official and business delegation will therefore be calling on the Minister Littorin on September 16th. From Stockholm the program will take the Azerbaijani business entities' representatives further north-west to the Norwegian capital Oslo, where political and economic events and presentations will be held in the University of Oslo. The Oslo program also includes some other cultural and bilateral Azerbaijani-Norwegian events.
