TS.ELBEGDORJ LEGS "ANTONOV" AIRPLANE COMPANY

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Before heading to Vilnius of Lithuania, the President Ts.Elbegdorj visited Antonov's airplane state owned company (ASTC) in Kiev, Ukraine.
Its director, general designer D.G.Kiva has said the Antonov ASTC is a state-owned commercial company, founded in 1946 by Oleg Antonov, the eminent aircraft designer. Since then, more than one hundred types and modifications of aircraft of various classes and purposes have been designed. The company has a highly experienced staff, a Design Bureau, wide complex of laboratories, experimental plant and the Flight and Test base which make it possible to solve any task on aircraft development including its certification, as well as co-operation in fields of manufacture, operational support and follow-on of all the Antonov aircraft types. It has its headquarters in Kiev.
Mongolia bought 61 airplanes from the company in 1964-1985. The company people say that these planes might be renewed.
