Nujeifi, Cardinal Dally discuss Christians conditions in Iraq
Baghdad (NINA) – Parliament Speaker, Osama Al Nujeifi, discussed today, with Cardinal Emmanuel III Delly, Head of the Chaldeans in the world, and his accompanying delegation, developments on the Iraqi arena and the Christians conditions.
A statement issued by Nujeifi’s office quoted him as saying “the Iraqi people is one people, despite the different nationalities and religions in it, Christians are a genuine component of this people and they have all the rights that any other citizen in the other components has.”
For his part, Delly expressed happiness for meeting with Nujeifi and for Nujeifi’s stance towards the Christians, praising, at the same time, his ability to run the parliament effectively.
