EARTHQUAKE PREVENTION CONSIDERED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The cabinet meeting on Wednesday discussed and approved some measures aimed to prevent from earthquakes.
It has been decided to place MNT 1.9 billion in the budgetary package of a related Minister for examining earthquake resistance of the city's buildings and for buying mobile stations for the examination. Another money of 11.6 billion togrog will be placed in the budgetary package to improve the system of distributing preventive information on disasters, in a scope of foreign assistance and financial aids and programs.
A related order has been given to Ministers and officers to intensify a distribution of preventive or alarm signals devices, improve examinations, run earthquake-resistance evaluation in buildings, and to report on these works in January of the next year.
Earthquake-alarm towers will be erected in the city's streets, seismic recording stations will be installed in Deren soum of Dundgobi, Tsagaannuur soum of Selenge and Mogod soum of Bulgan.
