STATE HEAD TO ATTEND MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE OF CD


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj has been invited to take part in a regular Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracies (CD) to run June 29-July 1 in Vilnius, Lithuania, as a special guest.
During this meeting, Mongolia will receive the chairmanship of the CD from Lithuania, and will lead the organization until 2013. The State Head will attend a high-level consultation to give a speech “Independence of women in economics”.
Other events are expected such as Women Enhancing Democracy event, Youth Forum, Parliamentary Forum, Corporate Democracy Forum and Civil Society Forum.
The CD was founded at the first ministerial conference hosted by the government of Poland in Warsaw June 25-27, 2000. The CD is the inter-governmental organization supporting democracy and strengthening a community of countries for developing democratic norms and institution.
Foreign Ministerial Meeting of the CD is met every two years, and is usually hosted by a country that is leading the CD Convening Group. This Group comprises the USA, the Republic of Korea, Cape Verde, Italy, Lithuania, Mali, Mexico, Mongolia, Morocco, the South Africa, Poland, Portugal, the Philippines, Czech Republic, Chile, El Salvador and India.
The Foreign Minister of Mongolia G.Zandanshatar also will attend the CD Ministerial Conference.
