Typhoon-5 Brings Strong Wind, Tidal Waves to DPRK
Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- Typhoon-5 Meari has caused strong wind and heavy rain in the DPRK, mainly west coastal areas.
15-22 m per second wind hit more than 20 areas including Haeju, Sariwon and Anju cities and Unryul, Ryongyon and Taedong counties from 06:00 Sunday to 15:00 Monday.
Kangwon Province, South and North Hwanghae provinces and Kaesong City had heavy rainfalls from 12:00 Saturday to 15:00 Monday, 209 mm in Kosong, 195 mm in Hoeyang and 194 mm in Pongchon.
Meanwhile, 20-61 cm tidal waves were observed in the sea off North and South Hamgyong and Kangwon provinces on Sunday and Monday.
