Ahrar bloc condemns raids and arrest of families in Basra without warrants
Basra (NINA) - Head of the Ahrar bloc in Basra, Mazen Al Mazeni, condemned the "raids and inspections operations carried out by the Basra based brigade of anti-terrorism special operations, associated with Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki."
He told NINA today that "the force carries out the arrests without any warrants, and after the arrest, a warrant is fixed against the detainee."
He added that "this force works on destabilizing security in the province, as it is directly associated with the occupation.
"The elements of this system raided more than once the families in their homes, and beat women and arrest young people after handcuffing and blindfolding them and take them to detentions where they are exposed to the worst kinds of torture under the excuse of anti-terrorism law," he concluded.
