Wasit police arrests two Qaeda members planning to attack governmental HQs
Kut (NINA) – Police patrols of Wasit managed to arrest two Qaeda members northern the province who were planning to attack governmental HQs.
Gen. Hussein Abdul Hadi Mahbuba, Wasit police chief told NINA correspondent that “a special force and upon intelligence it received managed to arrest two Qaeda members in Hafriya District, 120 km northern Kut.”
He added that the detainees confessed that they were planning to attack governmental HQs; like the Wasit Provincial Council HQ after another group blasts car bombs near the building.”
He pointed out that “the police and during the past few days carried out a precautious operations in which it arrested a number of suspects and cordoned the centers of cities and offices in the province.”
