I did not slap Blanche: Hawke's daughter
(AAP) - Bob Hawke's daughter, Sue Pieters-Hawke, says she did not slap or touch her stepmother Blanche d'Alpuget as reported on Monday.
News Ltd newspapers have reported the pair was involved in a "slapping match" in the Qantas Chairman's Lounge at Brisbane Airport last Thursday.
"Media statements that I was involved in a 'catfight' or 'brawl', and that 'police were called to separate (me) from (my) stepmother' are untrue," Ms Pieters-Hawke said in a statement to AAP.
"At no stage did I touch Blanche in any way."
Ms Pieters-Hawke said police went to the lounge after the incident at her request.
"At my request, I made a statement to them about what happened, but do not intend to pursue the matter any further," she said.
"I have no further comment to make at this stage."
