Sadoun: Peshmirga presence in Mosul legal

Baghdad (NINA) - Deputy chairman of the Kurdish Alliance bloc in the Parliament, Muhsin Al Sadoun, said that the presence of Peshmirga in Nineveh province is constitutional and legal and that those who claim otherwise are simply covering their failure in running the province.

He added in a statement to NINA "the presence of the Peshmirga in Mosul since 2003 in limited areas exposed to terrorist attacks, which are areas of displaced Kurds whose properties were confiscated.”

Sadoun pointed out that "these areas included by Article 140 of the constitution, so, the presence of the Peshmirga who are part of the Iraqi defense system, is constitutional."

He continued "what we hear from some officials in Nineveh, who failed in running the province in terms of security and services, of the illegality of the presence of the Peshmirga is to keep the attention of people of Nineveh away from their failure in running the province and create problems to cover their failure." /End/
