Karzai in Tehran to attend terrorism confab
Tehran, June 25, IRNA – Afghan President Hamed Karzai arrived here on Friday to attend the International Conference on Global Fight against Terrorism (June 25-26) and the Iran-Afghanistan-Pakistan tripartite meeting.
Karzai was welcomed by Iran’s Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Mohammad Hosseini upon his arrival in Tehran Mehrabad Airport.
Secretary-General of the Economic Cooperation Organization and former Afghan Ambassador to Tehran Mohammad Yahya Maroufi was present in the welcoming ceremony.
Karzai will shortly hold a meeting with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari.
