AJK-(Electioneering on peak as June 26 coming nearer)
Muzaffarabad, June 23, 2011 (PPI): As the poll day- June 26 is coming near, the election campaign is gaining momentum with passage of every day.
With visits of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza, the situation has got further momentum but majority of the voters are still indecisive whom to vote in the elections as PML-N is contesting first time in AJK.
In the past, there was two major parties Muslim Conference and the Pakistan Peoples Party but at this moment, the situation is different from the past as PPP, PML-N, MQM, Muslim Conference, Jamat-e- Islami, Jammu Kashmir Peoples Party while over all 25 parties are taking part in the elections.
Three major parties, PPP, PML-N and MC have launched strong candidates and leaders of the all three parties in their public meetings are claiming victory of their candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Among other constituencies, LA26 Muzaffarabad-III is being considered as an important that also falls in jurisdiction of the capital. A tough contest is expected in this constituency while Raja Farooq Haider Khan, PML-N chief and former AJK prime minister, Usman Ali Khan, scion of AJK Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, PPP nominee, and Muhammad Hanif Awan.
Besides this, Raja Farooq is gunning for the premiership. He is also contesting from his native constituency Muzaffarabad /Hattian Bala- 5, LA-28 against PPP's Ashfaq Zaffar.
Likewise this constituency, the electioneering in the some other constituencies are at the peak where leading figures of different political parties are contesting. Those activists affiliated with different political parties are spending their days and nights in getting maximum favour of the voters.
In the capital, walls have been covered with the posters of contesting candidates and at some places gigantic pictures of the leaders have also been displayed, besides hoisting flags.
An activist said that people' interest for their respective parties has increased as compared to the past. He said that with launch of PML-N, the atmosphere has been changed completely and now there are three major parties who are contesting. He expected that turn over ratio would also maximum.
