AZERBAIJAN – WORLD`S TOP BUSINESS REFORMER
Baku,10 September,(AzerTAj)Azerbaijan led the world as the top reformer in 2007/08, with improvements on seven out of 10 indicators of regulatory reform, according to Doing Business 2009.
Extensive reforms moved it far up the ranks, from 97 to 33 in the overall ease of doing business.
When it came to simplifying business regulations, Azerbaijan went further than any
other economy and catapulted 64 places in the global rankings to 33, the biggest
jump ever.
The report said Azerbaijan undertook reforms in seven of the 10 areas studied by the
report, including making it easier to start a business, contract enforcement and
property registration, easing tax administration burdens and employment
restrictions, and strengthening investor protections and credit information. Reforms
allowed opening more jobs. Intensive growth of economic shows that the government of
Azerbaijan has created effective regulating environment for business in the country.
