UNICEF TO REALIZE PROGRAM IN MONGOLIA

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ On Wednesday, an annual session of the Executive Council of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), kicked off June 20 in New York, approved a draft program to be implemented from 2012 to 2016 in Mongolia. This draft program has been drawn up by the government of Mongolia and the UNICEF consulting it with donor organizations.
The program's main purpose is to improve efficiency of the economic benefits for children. In frames of the program, the UNICEF will render a professional assistance to Mongolia in working out a children-targeted policy and in analyzing its benefits and expenses, and will give an aid to Mongolia for running hygiene and health services for vulnerable groups' children, augmenting water supply, giving education to the disabled children and protecting children from threats and violence.
In view of the program, the UNICEF has approved a USD 3 million and 750 thousand financing to be allotted from its budget, and decided to raise USD 15 million and 250 thousand from donor organizations.
Moreover, the UNICEF Regional Director for East Asia and the Pacific Mrs. Anupama Rao Singh has received Rana Flowers, the UNICEF country director for Mongolia, to share opinions on the bilateral collaboration.
