Afghan president to attend Int’l Confab on Fighting Terrorism
Tehran, June 22, IRNA -- Afghan Ambassador to Iran Obeidollah Obeid said on Tuesday that President Hamid Karzai will visit Tehran to attend the International Conference on Fighting Terrorism on June 25-26.
Karzai is also scheduled to hold talks with senior Iranian officials on the sidelines of the confab.
Afghanistan is currently the hub of terror activities and the presence of the US and its allies in the country under the pretext of fighting terrorism has contributed nothing to uprooting terrorism. Furthermore, it has flamed the evil phenomenon in the country.
According to the Secretariat of the conference, some 80 world countries and international organizations have voiced readiness to attend the conference./end
