Yemeni senior minister confers with GCC ambassadors

Sanaa, September 11, SPA -- Yemen's Deputy Prime Minister for Defense
and Security Affairs Dr. Rashad Al-Oleimi conferred here today with
ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states and the
countries overlooking the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden accredited to
Yemen, discussed the phenomenon of sea piracy off the Somali coasts
and raised the question of its danger on international navigation.

During the meeting, Al-Oleimi briefed the ambassadors on the efforts
being exerted by his country to combat this phenomenon despite
limited capabilities, urging for more cooperation with Yemen by other
regional and international circles.
