SARAWAK MPs WILL NOT JOIN PEOPLE'S ALLIANCE

SUNGAI PETANI (Malaysia), Sept 11 (Bernama) -- Sarawak members of
parliament (MPs) from National Front (Barisan Nasional) (BN) will not cross over to People's Alliance (Pakatan Rakyat) by Sept 16 to form a new government.

Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu Sarawak (PBB) or United Traditional
Bumiputera Party senior vice-president Douglas Uggah Embas said the new
government touted by People's Justice Party (Parti Keadilan Rakyat)
(PKR) advisor Anwar Ibrahim would not happen.

"I do not believe it will happen and all Sarawak MPs from BN are
confident
with the BN leadership in spearheading the state development," he told reporters
after visiting the Sungai Muda flood mitigation project here Thursday.

Sungai Petani is the capital town of northern state of Kedah.

Uggah Embas who is also Natural Resources and Environment Minister
said BN
MPs have full confident in the Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi
leadership and there was no reason why they should jump ship.

Sarawak, a east Malaysia state, has 31 MPs, 30 of them from BN while
another from the DAP.
