President Asif Zardari attend global fight against terrorism International Summit June 25-26 in Tehran

Tehran, June 21, 2011 (PPI): Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari, Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai and Sudanese president Omar Al-Bashir will attend Global Fight against Terrorism International Summit on June 25-26 in Iranian capital Tehran with aim of increasing international convergence and coordination in fighting terrorism with the slogan "World without terrorism", Mehr news agency reported on Tuesday.

The topics to be discussed at the Summit include various aspects of fighting terrorism, reasons behind increasing trend of terrorist activities in the world, challenges, obstacles in the way of fighting terrorism and enhance appropriate counter-terrorism strategies on the bilateral, regional and international level.

Officials from 80 countries as well as regional and international organizations will take participate in the two-day Summit.

Earlier in May, Iran hosted the International Conference on the Global Alliance against Terrorism for a Just Peace (GAATJP) in Tehran. The event, which brought together over 100 foreign as well as 300 local experts, focused on efforts aimed at uprooting terrorism.
