Basra Governor calls on Korean government to open Consulate in basra

Basra (NINA) – Basra Governor Khalaf Abdul Samad discussed with Korean ambassador to Iraq Skim Park and the accompanying delegation investment opportunities in Basra in addition to the rehab of its infrastructure.

The Governor called on the Korean companies’ representatives to invest in many economic fields, especially electricity.

He also demanded the Korean government to open a Consulate in Basra, expressing Basra’s local government’s desire to show the Korean ambassador and companies the reality of investment in Basra to compete for the projects that match their expertise in addition to opening a consultative office in Basra to follow up on the offered projects.

For his part, the Korean ambassador referred to his government’s keenness on creating a twinning between Basra and Korean city of Osan. /End/
