Democrat Party going ahead with campaign rally at Ratchaprasong intersection

BANGKOK, June 20 (TNA) - Thailand’s Democrat Party confirms it will go ahead and stage a big campaign rally at Ratchaprasong intersection in Bangkok.

Ong-art Klampaibul, head of the Party’s Bangkok MP candidates, confirmed the plan on Monday, insisting that his party would like to foster public understanding to prevent any future political problem.

Speaking of the rally, Ongart urged those who were not happy with the plan to stay clear of the venue to avoid any confrontation.

Meanwhile, Natthawut Saikua, the Pheu Thai Party’s list candidate and a protest leader of the red shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), regarded the announcement as possibly the last and an all-out strategy of the Democrats.

Natthawut said he believed it had nothing more to lose after polls pointed an overwhelming popularity for its arch-rival, the Pheu Thai Party. (TNA)
