Thai political parties continue their vote campaigns

BANGKOK, June 19 (TNA) - With just under 2 weeks remaining until the July 3 election, Thai political parties continue actively with their vote campaigns while other organizations launch campaigns urging eligible voters to exercise their rights in the upcoming general election.

Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva Sunday led his party members to campaign in Samut Prakan province where he promised the locals to curb the soaring prices of commodities.

Yingluck Shinawatra, the top list candidate of the Pheu Thai Party, was scheduled to visit Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok and Phichit provinces in the lower North to campaign for votes for her party. She vowed to solve agricultural problems for Thai farmers if her party was elected in the July 3 general election.

The third opinion poll on party list election by Suan Dusit Poll, meanwhile, showed that the Pheu Thai Party will win the lion’s share or 64 seats of all party list seats in the House while the Democrat Party will have 43 seats, followed by four seats for the Bhumjaithai Party, three seats for the Rak Thailand Party, two seats for the Chartthaipattana Party, and one seat each for Chart Pattana, Puea Pandin, Rak Santi, Phalang Chon and Matubhum parties.
