Thailand launches new web-based learning channel for teachers

BANGKOK, June 15 (TNA) - The Thai Ministry of Education's Office of the Basic Education Commission has launched a new educational website for teachers, www. KrutubeChannel.com, in a bid to enhance the capacity of Thai teachers.

The office's deputy secretary general, Kamol Rodklai, said that the new learning website provides an avenue for Thai teachers to share and exchange their knowledge and resources with global teachers to enhance their teaching capacity, and that the new website also helps strengthen an online network of Thai teachers.

Kamol acknowledged that his office will also create video clips, which will be hosted on Youtube.com, emphasizing on eight subjects and educational activities for students of elementary schools to those of high schools.

The senior Thai official said that some 250 teachers across Thailand have been selected for a technical training to learn how to create their works before posting them on “Krutube”. He added that all teachers are welcome to send their videos to Kruetube. Their works will be examined by authorities concerned before they can be stored on the shared database. (TNA)
