Thai voters urged to turn out in force for national poll

BANGKOK, June 15 (TNA) - Thai Army Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha has called on the electorate to turn out in force for the country's forthcoming general election, set on July 3, and vote "good candidates" into the Thai Parliament.
General Prayuth insisted that Thailand's 40 million eligible voters should come out in force to cast their ballots and to exercise good judgment to elect the best candidates to run the country efficiently.
Meanwhile, Royal Thai Army Spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd said that General Prayuth has instructed all army officers to be politically impartial both before and after the country's July 3 national poll.
The spokesman also acknowledged that the Royal Thai Army has never conducted any opinion poll on the upcoming general election to assess popularity of political parties. (TNA)
