Prime Minister Gilani says “we are all collectively fighting war on terror”
Islamabad (PPI) - Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani told National Assembly on Tuesday that “we are all collectively fighting war on terrorism and there is no second opinion about it.”
Condemning target killings in Karachi, he said he discussed it with Sindh Governor, Chief Minister and sought report. Responding to points raised by MQM members and Aftab Ahmed Sherpao, Gilani said though law and order is provincial subject and Federal government cannot directly interfere and has called report.
On fund for terrorism affected people, he said he has issued directions and it will be implemented. Shaheed Fund had already been set up for martyrs of Army, law enforcement agencies and seed money had been given from Prime Minister’s Fund. He also said a fund was created in Information & Broadcasting Ministry for journalists who become victims of terrorism.
On a point by Aftab Sherpao, he announced establishing Revolving Fund for immediate rehabilitation of infrastructure. Bazaars, schools, hospitals, bus stands, railways stations are easy targets of terrorists. Prime Minister said financial help from Friends of Democratic Pakistan and financial institutions is being spent on reconstruction, rehabilitation of schools.
