Thai embassy in Indonesia ready to organize overseas polling

BANGKOK, June 14 (TNA) - The Thai Embassy in Jakarta announced Tuesday that it is ready to organize overseas polling for Thai voters in Indonesia on June 18; while the voting by mail has been set from June 13-24.

Thai Ambassador to Indonesia Thanathip Upatsing explained that the voting can be done through two means; Thai voters turn out to cast their ballots at a polling unit at the Thai Embassy in the Indonesian capital, or by mail.

Thanathip said that the Thai Embassy in Jakarta will open the polling unit on June 18; while the voting by mail can be done from June 13-24, and that a 100 per cent voters’ turnout is expected, as most Thai eligible voters in Indonesia are business persons who should be political enthusiasts.

The top Thai envoy acknowledged that there are now 591 Thai eligible voters in Indonesia, and that the Thai embassy's officials have actively campaigned for voters’ turnout for the advance poll, nearly two weeks before the new national poll in Thailand scheduled for July 3. (TNA)
