SEC:Yingluck case was over

BANGKOK, June 13 (TNA) - Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced today that its proceedings against Yingluck Shinawatra, the youngest sister of exiled ex-Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra and the top list candidate of the Puea Thai Party in the run-up to the country's next general election on July 3, 2011, for her involvement in a previous share concealment case of the Shinawatra family's business firm, Shin Corporation, was over.

The SEC insisted that it has already carried out all its tasks under its authority on the case, and that Yingluck did not breach the Thai securities law by not filing reports on her shareholding as her shareholding is less than 5 per cent of Shin Corp's capital.

The Thai SEC statement followed a request earlier filed by a pro-democratic group that the SEC takes legal action against Yingluck for her involvement in the Shin Corp's stake concealment case. (TNA)
