Hashimi's office: king of Jordan responds to Hashimi’s requests, releases Iraqi detainees in Jordanian prisons

Baghdad (NINA) - Tariq Al Hashimi’s press office announced that the King Abdullah II of Jordan responded to Al Hashimi’s requests presented by him during his recent visit to Jordan.

The office said, in a statement today that “the king of Jordan issued a royal pardon for all Iraqi detainees in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and ordered that all Iraqis residents to be exempted from the delay penalties that have hindered many of them from returning to Iraq."

"The King instructed to facilitate the entry and exit of Iraqis via airports and border crossings, and to provide a hotline to Iraqis to call during any problem with them and in coordination with the Iraqi embassy in Amman. He also issued orders to accept Iraqi students residing in the public schools of Jordan free of charge, and provide medical services to Iraqis residing in Jordan for free and also on an ongoing basis and in coordination with the Iraqi embassy," the statement added.

The statement quoted Al Hashimi’s evaluation of the King Abdullah II positions in support of the Iraqi people and his siding with Iraqis, and that he considered this situation as continuation of the positive role played by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, along with their brothers Iraqis under the current circumstances in which they live.

The statement pointed out that the Iraqis living abroad issue does not disappear from Hashimi’s agenda during his visits of Arab and regional countries, as he gives special attention to this segment.
