Sydney woman refused bail over body find
A young woman has been refused bail after a decomposing body was found wrapped in old sheets beneath stairs at a house in Sydney's north.
Karyna Holloway, 22, appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday after she was charged with the murder by officers who arrested her at a motel in William Street, Ryde, late on Friday afternoon.
She was refused bail and ordered to reappear on Thursday.
Police acting on a tip-off arrested her following the discovery of a decomposed male body wrapped in old sheets beneath stairs at the back of a house in Lowe Road, Hornsby about 8am (AEST) on Friday.
The body is believed to be that of a 61-year-old man.
A crime scene was established and forensics officers were brought in to examine the evidence.
Police are calling for anyone with any information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
They are particularly looking for the person who contacted them on May 29 with the tip-off.
