Maliki, US Congressional delegation discuss bilateral relation, SFA

Baghdad (NINA) – Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki discussed on Friday, June 10, with a delegation representing the US Congress, bilateral relations and the Strategic Frame Agreement signed between Iraq and the US.

A statement issued by the Prime Minster's Office said that during his meeting with the Congressional delegation, Maliki discussed the region's on going developments, especially in Syria, Yemen and Libya.

In the meeting, Maliki asserted Iraq's position in supporting the peoples' moves and consolidate freedom as well as work toward making reforms the people demand, away from violence and force.

Maliki called for expanding cooperation between Iraq and the United States in all fields. / End.
