By Zakaria Abdul Wahab
SINGAPORE, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- Forbes announced Tuesday its inaugural
Forbes Asia Luxury Forum will be held in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 5.

Co-hosted by Forbes and Malaysian conglomerate, YTL Corporation Berhad, the forum, themed "The Art of Time", will examine the booming market for luxury timepieces in the region.

Hosting of the forum was announced by Forbes vice-chairman Christopher
Forbes and YTL Corporation managing director Francis Yeoh at the Forbes Global
CEO Conference here.

The event will feature discussions on how to become a great collector of
high-end watches, what makes a great watch and the watch industry's role in
the luxury market.

Todate, Forbes Asia has focused on business events in Asia. This forum
extends the Forbes Asia brand to lifestyle events in the region.

Forbes said Asia had become the world's major engine of growth and that
the forum was timely.

"Holding it in this region underscored the tremendous spending power and
the
influence the growing Asian market wielded on the luxury industry.

He said YTL was an ideal partner for Forbes Asia in co-hosting the event,
given its expanding portfolio of luxury lifestyle resorts, luxury retail outlets
such as the Starhill Gallery and other luxury-related projects.
