OIC hopes reconciliation in Iraq creates balanced development

Baghdad (NINA) - Organization of the Islamic Conference expressed "the hope that national reconciliation creates balanced development in different areas of human development and education in Iraq."

Representative of OIC in Iraq, Hamed Al Tani, said in a speech at the National Reconciliation Conference today, attended by a number of armed factions, that "the OIC sees Iraq as a minimized Islamic nation that is why the organization focused considerable attention to Iraq because it was undergoing a plight that was beyond Iraqis’ control."

He referred to the document of Mecca and said "it brought together scholars of the two big sects in Iraq who met in Mecca and strengthened the Islamic ideals, especially prohibition of killing Iraqi people under any pretext whether sectarian, racial, or any other excuse."
