Pakistani PM to look into killing of 1 person by security personnel


Islamabad, June 09, 2011 (PPI): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has assured the National Assembly that he will personally look into the killing of a person by the security personnel in Karachi.

Responding to a point of order raised by Khawaja Saad Rafique, the Prime Minister said the incident is a matter of great concern for the entire nation and culprits will be brought to justice.

He however urged the parliamentarians to remain within certain parameters while addressing the institutions. He said under the constitution nobody can ridicule the superior judiciary and the armed forces.


Earlier Khawaja Saad Rafique condemned the killing of a young boy by the security personnel in Karachi, demanding an immediate inquiry into the incident.

Members from treasury and opposition benches also strongly denounced the killing of a young person in Karachi yesterday. They demanded that the culprits of the incident should be brought to justice at the earliest.

Meanwhile,Rising on a point of order Farrah Naz Ispahani said that a sub-committee of Human Rights has decided to investigate the Akhrotabad incident in Balochistan in which five Chechen were killed by the security personnel.

She said that she alongwith other members of the committee will visit the area to investigate the incident as they are not satisfied with the investigation done so far.

Those who spoke on the issue included Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, Sheikh Waqas Akram, Syed Samsam Bukhari, Akhunzada Chittan, Maulana Attaur Rehman and Begum Attiya Inayatullah, Munir Khan Orakzai.
