US Condemns Attack in Matni Area near Peshawar

Islamabad, June 09, 2011 (PPI): The United States Embassy here has condemned terrorist attack close to a school in the Matni area near Peshawar. We offer our sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims.

The fact that this attack occurred near a school shows the moral depravity of violent extremists, who purposely target innocent women, men, and even children, said a statement of the US Embassy issued here Thursday.

The United States is committed to working with the people and government of Pakistan in our common fight against violent extremism.
