Vote campaigns continue at full steam in Thailand

BANGKOK, June 9 (TNA) - Eligible candidates in Thailand have continued to actively campaign for votes in Bangkok and other provinces.

Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva and his key party figures campaigned on Thursday in Nakhon Ratchasima Province. They received a warm welcome by the locals, many of whom gave them flowers and asked for their autographs. The Democrat delegations also delivered speeches to a crowd in front of the monument of Thao Suranaree.

In Bangkok, Yingluck Shinawatra, the top list candidate of the Pheu Thai Party, helped a Pheu Thai candidate in Bangkok’s Constituency 8 campaign for votes in Lat Phrao and Wang Thonglang districts. She then went further to Nopparat Hospital in Khannayao district, at which she promised to patients and people that her party would revive the 30-baht health care scheme if it rose to power.

In Khon Kaen Province, Social Action Party chairman Suwit Khunkitti brought his daughter who is a list candidate, and candidates of 10 constituencies to pay respect to the City Pillar of Khon Kaen before roaming the province to campaign for votes. He pledged to provide all people living in 11 provinces of the upper Northeast region an access to tab water within 2 years. (TNA)
