Thailand successfully develops

BANGKOK, June 9 (TNA) - Thailand has successfully produced an environmentally-friendly brake pad for local motorists, thanks to a private research project sponsored by the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) under the Thai Ministry of Science and Technology.
NSTDA Assistant Director Sochai Chatratana told reporters on Thursday that his agency, with Japan's cooperation in technological transfer through a team of Japanese experts, had supported a private brake manufacturing firm, Compact International (1994) Co., Ltd., to develop the asbestos-free brake line for the first time in the Kingdom.
Somchai then presented the first 500 pieces of the Thai innovative "green" brake lining to Siam Taxi Cooperatives to be installed in its member cabs as a pilot project--aimed to help ease air pollution locally and to save the Earth. (TNA)
