Thailand to host ASEAN air force chiefs' meeting

BANGKOK, June 9 (TNA) - Thailand is scheduled to host a meeting of ASEAN air force chiefs, the 8th of its kind, in the country's upper southern Petchaburi Province from June 13-16.
Thai Air Force Commander-in-Chief Air Chief Marshal Itthiporn Suphawong said on Thursday that all 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) had confirmed to attend the meeting, set to be held at the Dusit Thani Hua Hin Hotel in Petchaburi.
Air Chief Marshal Itthiporn noted that participants of the upcoming regional forum are either air force chiefs of ASEAN member countries themselves or their authorised representatives.
The Thai air force chief revealed that top agenda of the 8th ASEAN Air Forces Commanders Meeting include cooperation among the ASEAN air forces, especially in disaster mitigation missions and information exchanges for the sake of regional interest and security. (TNA)
