Barazani discusses with Sadrist delegation political, security developments
Baghdad (NINA) – Head of Kurdistan region, Massoud Barazani, met on Wednesday, June 8, with a delegation representing the Sadrist Trend, headed by Baha' al-Araji, leader of Ahrar bloc in Parliament.
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) web site said, "In the meeting, Iraq's political developments and problems hindering political and security process are discussed."
It added, "The delegation shed light on its activities within the political process and the federal government toward organizing the political process and activating the government, in addition to solving the problems hindering its works."
The delegation explained Muqtada Sadr's reform initiative aimed to solve outstanding problems in a way that all sides are committed to, through which the problem of security ministries is solved and the Strategic Policies Council is formed within the frame of Barazani's initiative.
For his part, Barazani stressed, "Any joint effort toward solving problems facing the Federal Government is a patriotic task, we in Iraq are in need to establish a legal and institutional state in which each side carry out its duties and feels that it is a genuine partner."
