People in all Thai regions warned of downpours, flash floods

BANGKOK, June 8 (TNA) - The Meteorological Department has warned people in all Thai regions to brace for widespread scattered downpours over the next couple of days, with heavy falls in some areas, where floods are possible.

The Thai weather agency said Wednesday that people living near areas at risk, namely hillsides and other low lying zones, particularly in Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, Tak, Pichit, Petchabun and Kampaengpetch should be prepared for heavy downpours and flash floods, influenced by a southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.

The Meteorological Department also warned local trawlers of strong wind and high waves off shores in the coming days. (TNA)
