Talabani, Ambassador Geoffrey, Gen. Austin discuss cooperation between Iraq, US
Baghdad (NINA) – President Jalal Talabani discussed on Tuesday, June 7, with US Ambassador to Iraq, James Geoffrey, and Commander of the US forces in Iraq, General Lloyd Austin, the cooperation between Iraq and the United States.
A statement issued by the President's Office said that in his meeting on Tuesday afternoon, with Ambassador Geoffrey and Gen. Austin, Talabani discussed also Iraq's political situation and means to consolidate bilateral relations.
He renewed Iraq's desire to consolidate cooperation and coordination in the service of both countries' people.
For his part, Ambassador Geoffrey expressed his country's keenness to consolidate the strategic relations between the two countries and its continuing support to Iraq's political process, as well as helping Iraqi political forces without exception to over come the current hard period.
